Timeline
The campaing starts in June 1812. It can continue until December 1815.
Both Revolution and Rusolution tracks have finished and the game is in Phase IV.
Winning
The campaign has two sides: France and the Coalition.
France wins if it has held a Russian capital (Moscow or St. Petersburg) for one whole month without being sieged during the game and at the end of the game there are no units belonging to the Coalition in Paris.
If France doesn't win, the Coalition wins.

Turkey is not part of the campaign and cannot be DOWed. The Coalition can use forcible access on Turkey and France has right of passage.

- Kutusov - controls Russia
- Swartzenberg - controls Austria

Another way to play is the High Command -option:
Both the Coalition and France are divided between players in such a way that both sides have one High Commander. The High Commander is in charge of the economy, strategical choices etc. The rest of the players are Field Marshals and decide on the tactical part of the campaign: movement of forces, attacks and other Land phase -connected choices.

Moscow burns
When France captures the Moscow (at the first time) the city is immediately burned... by Russians themselves, which causes following effects:
- Russia loses -3 PP
- The forage value of all tiles in Moscow province is set to zero (0), effect lasts for three (3) months
- During this time, any French forces that start their land step in said area cannot be supplied from depots, and thus those forces must forage
- Russia suffers the normal economical losses for a burned city.
- No player gains money or additional PP penalties from pillaging rules.
Setup
France setups first into any areas that it controls or has right of passage to. Additionally France may setup into the following Spanish provinces: Old Castile, New Castile, Aragon, Murcia, Valencia and Catalonia.
The countries of the Coalition thereafter setup into any areas that the country in question controls with the exception of Spain and Great Britain. The British may setup into any part of Spain except Old Castile, New Castile, Aragon, Murcia, Valencia and Catalonia. Spain can setup into any province of Spain that does not have a French corps.
Player notes
Wellington (GB/Spa)
You are likely to enjoy all kinds of superiority early on and Madrid is a considerable economic boost. Strike hard! Strike early! But don't forget that ALL French reinforcements for the next 6 months are going to march your way. As your victories mount, lean towards caution. And don't forget to shield your precious redcoats with Spanish cannon fodder.
Take Kopenhagen with minimal force and send rest of the Swedes to assist Russia.
Kutusov (Russia)
Don't allow the French to take Moscow with a small force! To ensure this, place a depot with 10I on Moscow early. Garrison all of your cities that are anywhere near the French advance path to Moscow. Delay the French with screen corps, harass them with your cossacks and keep your main armies out of striking distance. Your two (maybe three) armies should, once you are sure Moscow is the main target, meet there and offer battle. Be careful! Your objective is not to win the battle, but to escape with light losses.
Once La Grande Armee is in Moscow, screen them in. Let NONE escape Russia! Unfortunately, the French will likely use their double move to breach your line and run. Pursuit with reckless abandon! Don't allow the French to reset the double move! Attack, attack, attack! Go for their supply lines and don't allow your forces to be delayed.
Blucher (Prussia)
To trade or not to trade? Can you afford a French DOW early on? That's your first decission.
Once your army is on board and you can DOW, do so. French to your east are more important than the French to your west, but you need to address both issues.
Get some Russians in Blucher's mains army ASAP and then go for the jugular. Wear out the French and win, try something fancy and lose.
Swarzenberg (Austria)
Coalition should be winning already and your attack is the final nail in the coffin. Blast ahead with full speed and never mind the casualties.
Napoleon (French in Russia)
Read the bit for Kutusov. That's NOT how you want this to go down. Look for a chance to crush the Russian armies BEFORE you meet them in Moscow. Mutual destruction is a good outcome, as long as you can get Moscow too.
If you can't do that, get to Moscow, hold it for a turn and get the fuck out! Prussia and Russia combined is a monster and to defeat that monster, you need every damn soldier you got! You'll likely need the double move to escape Russia. Escaping Prussia may be impossible.
Massena (French in Spain)
This is a tough spot. You'll get some nice reinforcements early, but that's the only good news. Holding Madrid on turn 1 is possible, but after that, it gets increasingly difficult. You can stay in Madrid and forage or retreat slowly towards France.
Fighting Wellington may seem pointless, but don't forget that if you kill more than 3 British every turn, they will not be able to replace their losses. Let that be your strategic goal: Killing the British.
