No nation suffered as much in World War II as the Soviet Union.
Of the 52 million dead in the war, over half were Russian.
Enormous areas of Ukraine, Byelorussia, and Russia itself were devastated. Millions were subjected to slave labour, starvation, torture, and terror.
Civilians and soldiers both endured incredible suffering – the likes of which have seldom been seen.
