Aims of the royal lines rules

  • 1st: More dynamics into the game.
  • 2nd: More historical events regarding succession, alliances between families and Napoleon redrawing the royal lines in Europe.

What needs to be avoided is heavy and confusing extra rules that do not add much to the game. Small and simple is the way to go with small additions into the game.

Ideas:

  • Casus belli based on royal lines (-1 PP to DOW)
  • Point gains for installing your relatives on thrones.
  • Bragging rights (originally owned by the Habsburgs)
  • Line-specific effects?
